Eastern Canada and the Caribbean District Convention held in Stratford on May 16 - 18, 2019

At the Eastern Canada and the Caribbean District Convention held in Stratford on May 16 - 18, 2019, the Stratford Club organized a very well run, informative and fun event. This was the second largest EC&C Convention held to date with 492 in attendance.   Kudos to the Stratford Club for them arranging for members at the end of the conference to see a presentation of, Billy Elliot at the Stratford Festival Theatre. Many members of the Kiwanis Club of Brantford were present and participated in various aspects of the Convention. Following are some pictures of the activities during the three days.

100th Anniversary Gala of the Kiwanis Club of Brantford

On Saturday, April 18 2019, the Kiwanis Club of Brantford held the 100 th Anniversary Gala at the Best Western Brantford Hotel and Conference Centre.   It was a wonderful evening for over 120 past and present friends and members of the Kiwanis Club of Brantford to gather and celebrate 100 years of Service to the Children in the City of Brantford and Brant County. It was a great night for re-connecting with friend from many clubs as far away as the Caribbean. Guests enjoyed interesting memorabilia, fun caricature drawings, enjoyable music, interesting vignettes, magic tricks, commemorative event pictures, juggling, wonderful comradery, a delicious meal and delightful evening   all round. Thank you all for coming and celebrating 100 th years of Community Service to the City of Brantford and Brant County.

100 years of Kiwanis Club of Brantford

The Thursday 07-March-2019 meeting of the Kiwanis Club of Brantford was 100th Anniversary Celebration of Charter signing March 08, 1919.  It was a fantastic kickoff to celebrating our 100th year.  President Elect Nelson McClinchey drew our attention to the club's Charter dated March 8, 1919, and read it’s proclamation for all to hear.  Lieutenant Governor Stan Hutchinson from the Black Walnut Division (5) of the Eastern Canada & Caribbean District extended congratulations to the club on the 100th Anniversary of the Charter. We were presented with an overview of the club's history by Bob Saunders, followed with a series of Member presenting facts, memories, and connections: Joanne Murray, reminding us of the many years we ran the Music Festival Pam Honeyman, a second generation Kiwanian, showing a trophy her father had won Sandra Pauwels, another second generation Kiwanian and a former Camp Leader Judy Jones, a third generation Kiwanian and Ca...
